European Union (EU)

In the SCUBE-ICT project European Union is represented by 4 organizations:

• Innovative enterprise «Q-PLAN North Greece Ltd» (Q-PLAN NG);
• Consulting company «Intelligentsia Consultants Limited» (Intelligentsia);
• Scientific-production firm «ALTEC SA Information and Communication Systems» (ALTEC);
• State scientific-educational institution «Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya» (UPC).

 
Based on the analytical data from a report in the English language, published within the framework of Great-IST (FP6-2004-IST-3, Contract No: 015878) in December 2007, in EU was made the general conclusion that regard, the EU and Ukraine and Belarus in the field of research and development of information and communication technologies (ICT) is very weak. ICT research community in Ukraine and Belarus need to update the information on scientific and technological activities of EU in the field of ICT and in promoting participation in these activities by supporting the improvement of its organization and funding.

 
Activities in the field of international cooperation, the proposed in work program FP7 ICT, has three main objectives:

1. Joining forces to tackle major global technological challenges by developing interoperable solutions and standards;
2. Joint development of ICT solutions for large and global social issues;
3. The improvement of scientific and technical cooperation, based on the interest of mutual benefit.
